Sanctuary on the Grand - for a Jan Mexican Riviera cruise?

This will be our second Princess cruise, and I'm thinking about reserving a day in the Sanctuary. Any info on using the Sancturay on the Grand would be appreciated, also thoughts about which day might be better than others. We depart SF, then have 3 full sea days before arriving in Puerto Vallarta.

Maybe the 2nd or 3rd sea day on the way down? the first sea day will likely be too cold still....it will be early January.

We had this same itinerary in February. It was too cold the first 3 sea days and it was too cold and windy for the Sanctuary the last 2 sea days as well.

ah, that's what I wondered. So, basically, the only days it might be warm enough are the 4 port days .....

 

looks like this won't be the cruise to try out the sanctuary :)

We went at the end of Feb this year. The first three days where hot and sunny . Mexico was cooler than we have had in the past.

oh, I will have to see what the weather is like when we go - DOH! :D

 

is the sanctuary nice on the Grand? anyone with experience, good or bad?

If I had to choose, I’d pick the 3rd sea day on the way down. Best chance for some weather the closest you get to Mexico. Just did this cruise in February.

I would take my chances and wait to see what the weather was like.

Sometimes the 3rd day is warm and calm and then it could still be cold and windy. You just never know.
