kkelley Posted March 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2018 Booking an Aft cabin and cannot decide whether to book on Deck 8 or Deck 6. I cannot find a good picture that shows how covered or not covered either deck is. Want to have some sunshine but in case of rain it is nice to sit under cover. Is it better to be on deck 8 closer to Lido deck for pool? Is it noisy with the Grill/Bar right above on deck 9? Is the view better on either cabin, e.g. better being closer to the water for the view of the wake. Also, did anyone experience soot issues (as we have experienced this with prior aft balcony cabins)? Thanks to all in advance.
joepeka Posted March 25, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2018 Deleted. I wasn't sure what ship you were talking about but see that it's in the title of your thread. Sorry.
joepeka Posted March 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2018 I looked at some photos on cruisedeckplans of aft balconies on both deck 6 and deck 8 and it appears both have about half the balcony covered by overhang. As to the soot question, we've been in aft balconies in years past that had that issue but have not read anything here recently that it still occurs. Cruzlover7 Posted March 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2018 We had deck 6 on Sunshine. Here’s a picture of the balcony where you can see how much coverage you have overhead. No issues with suit at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
tandemcruzr Posted March 26, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 26, 2018 Deck 6 has cabins above and below. Deck 8 afts are below the Havana Bar which has late night music. I'd go with deck 6. :)
apcci2 Posted March 30, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 30, 2018 We have had both. Deck 6 seemed a little more peaceful, but we didn’t have any issues with noise on deck 8. (Other than slamming doors, which can happen on any deck).
Hogan3105 Posted April 4, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 4, 2018 Look on YouTube for Room Numbers on Carnival Cruises, some people take videos of the cabins. Very helpful. It helped us realize we do not have a refrigerator.
