Port Canaveral to Epcot - late April - 5 cruise ships in port.

Will be on the Anthem when it docks in Port Canaveral April 23rd. Taking my Mom and sisters, and they want to do Epcot (against my wishes).

Originally thought it wouldn't be too bad since it will be late April (so spring break & Easter long gone), but just found out there will be 5 cruise ships in port (15+-K passengers). Wondering how you seasoned Port Canaveral / Epcot folks feel it will be for:

  • Epcot crowds. Those sites that guesstimate how busy the parks will be say a pretty mild day at Epcot, but you never really know... right? Plus with 5 ships in port?
  • Traffic coming back to the ship. Was planning on leaving Epcot around 6pm (Anthem leaves around 9:30pm), so would have traffic to deal with I would imagine?
  • We will not really be trying to hit many rides (I see that people say the wait times are crazy)... mostly the food pavilions. Maybe a couple of the more mild rides, but not too much. Are we crazy???

Go for it! The ship will offer an expensive excursion, but you know you will not miss the boat. A rental car or Uber are your other options. I would buy tickets in advance to save time. If you use a rental car most of the offices will be closed when you drop the car off - you'll need a taxi or Uber to get back to the port.

Hi, did this plan work out? Were you able to do Epcot? How did you get to/from? We are thinking of doing that on our stop in May on Adventure.
