Next it was off to the Summer Palace.

The Summer Palace is a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens and palaces in Beijing, China. It was an imperial garden in Qing Dynasty. Mainly dominated by Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake, it covers an expanse of 2.9 square kilometres (1.1 sq mi), three-quarters of which is water.

After we headed to dinner, duck dinner. Yum.

To properly eat the duck you take one of the rice wrapper or pancake. Add a couple of pieces of duck, some slivers of cucumber and scallions, don't forget the sauce. Roll it up and eat it. Also tried duck bone soup (I thought it needed seasoning). Delicious dinner.

Our day was not over as we were off to the opera. I figured you can't come to Beijing without seeing a Chinese opera. It was a series of 3-4 short stories. Marie enjoyed the first story called the Crossroads. Most of the story had two guys in a sword fight where the premise was the room was pitch dark.

Prior to the show starting one of the actors was putting on makeup and costume.

Wow, 24 hours and not a comment or question about the Forbidden Palace?

Maybe the Great Wall will peak your interest. [emoji39]

Our legs are worn out so instead of going to the section of the Great Wall we'r had planned we went to Badalang so we could ride the cable cars up and down.

We still did some climbing up to one of the towers, no to be total slackers.
