Browezilla Posted December 29, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2005 Hi all, I'm struggling a bit with a tour for our group. We have ages ranging from 4 to 80. In the past we've been on the trolley, Mel Fischer's, and glass bottom boats so those aren't options. We also have snorkeling/boating excursions at other ports so we prefer to not do that here as well. We have seen lots of aquariums so that isn't attractive either. A lot of walking isn't possible due to mobility problems. 1) What would you recommend that would entertain children that isn't in the list above? 2) If we decided to go to a beach, which would you recommend? It sounds like the KW beaches are in sad shape, so we may have to consider other keys (e.g. Bahia Honda). As always, thanks for your help!
bhopal21 Posted December 29, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2005 How about the www.keywestbutterfly.com You could spend a fair amount of time there and it is entertaining for all ages. Your admission is for all day, so if some wanted to go back later they could. It is located at the far end of Duval St (about a 20 min walk) so you would probably want to take a taxi or other transportation. Mike:)
Browezilla Posted December 29, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted December 29, 2005 Good idea, however we have a butterfly room/museum as part of our Life & Science museum so we've been to those frequently as well.

Smather's Beach is the best it's ever been. All the sand was sifted and put back on the beach. It's beautiful.

It's beautiful.I agree -- it is beautiful! We were in KW in September right after Rita, and earlier this month (Dec 10 - 13) for our anniversary. I couldn't believe the improvement in that short time in the beaches! It was a bit too chilly for these Floridians to spend time on the beach then, but we drove past it several times on our rented scooter.
