Sailing next year -looking at all options for St. Kitts from a ship's excursion, to Marriott Day Pass to DIY Cockleshell.

Anyone know the cost of a tsxi to Cockleshell? Do taxis wait til its full before heading out? I don't mind a shared van at all.

Celebrity offers $43 p/p to Cockleshell with lounger .

Thoughts? Advise.

Thanks

Hi jonsmom,

We visited St. Kitts a few weeks ago via cruise ship and took a cab to Cockleshell Beach. It was $28 for the four of us....we had to wait until the driver found two more passengers, which took about 10 minutes. It was a very scenic cab ride and the driver stopped at Timothy Hill, so that we could take pictures of where the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea meet. We also arranged for the taxi to return in the afternoon to Cockleshell to pick us up...he was 15 minutes early and brought us back to the port in plenty of time.

Soleil - thank you so much for your reply. $28 sounds reasonable. We are a party of 2 and don't mind waiting a few minutes for a taxi.

There is very little info on these boards

Re Cockleshell:

We were there in November and the taxi fare was $7 pp. waiting until full. And yes, arranged to come back & get us at a certain time. Very efficient.

I think the lounge chairs were $5pp. Don't even put your foot on one or they'll run at you asking if you're renting it!!

Nice little bar there as well with food you can order.

Enjoyed the beach area there too and took our own snorkel equipment.
