Be your own Upgrade Fairy

My June sailing on Harmony of the Seas appears to be one of the few where prices have actually DROPPED with RCI's latest WOW "sale." When I saw the lower prices, I called and upgraded from a balcony to a junior suite for $250 all-in! And this is after receiving an email from RCI last month offering the "opportunity" to be be waitlisted and then, if I got lucky, pay $800 for the exact same upgrade. Glad to see my obsessive daily price-watching finally paid off.

 

So this is my PSA to people who are within a few months of sailing - go forth, check prices, and snag a cheap or free upgrade! Maybe the Upgrade Fairy never left . . . maybe she lives within us all. :p:p

Thats why we always pay attention. Our next cruise we booked an interior but upgraded to Balcony Guarantee for only $200 or so. That turned into a hump balcony. Not bad.

Or like me who had a good price, then cancelled and then within a week or so wished I had not.

 

So I rebooked in a higher category. When time came to make final payment, I lurked daily and sure enough the lower category became avail so I grabbed it and was back to square one. Felt lucky
