Child seats in Ajaccio taxi (and other Med ports)

Hello

We are travelling on a med cruise in August - with a 5 year old and 7 year old for the first time. If we wanted to visit an attraction (eg tortoise sanctuary from Ajaccio Corsica) we would need a private taxi but car seats would be needed.

Can anyone advise please if car seats are routinely available with port taxi's, should we bring our 'trunki' backpack/booster seats and if so would they be permissible?

Child seats or booster seats (siège rehausser) are mandatory until age 10 in France. (Corsica is in France.) However, the law also says that restraints for children under 13 are NOT required in public transportation such as taxis, limos and buses. You are extremely unlikely to find a taxi that carries them. Bring your own.

The same exemption for taxis, etc. applies in Italy.

Hi, I am stopping at Ajaccio on a cruise in June and I too am looking for a taxi from the port to the tortoise sanctuary.

 

Was it easy getting a taxi from the port, and how much was it? And what did you do about a car seat? My daughter is 4.
