Roatanfans Posted May 30, 2018 #26 Share Posted May 30, 2018 Forward is usually really quiet from passenger noise. On rough seas you can hear the waves but it's not bad. The worst noise we notices (we were in family suite cabins so all the way forward) is the noise from what must be dropping the anchor chains in port- not a big deal, but if you prefer to sleep in on port days it does make it a little harder when you get this quick wake up call! TheRabbit Posted May 30, 2018 #27 Share Posted May 30, 2018 Can you explain the terms of this guarantee? In physics, for every action, there an an equal but oposite reaction.

piescruises Posted May 31, 2018 #29 Share Posted May 31, 2018 Aft cabins don't get as much seasick as forward cabins, if you ever been in the theater on most ships at the the front, you feel the roll of the ship. The only downside there's a little engine buzz.
cpop48 Posted May 31, 2018 #30 Share Posted May 31, 2018 Same here. Sitting on my aft balcony watching the wake stretch out behind me while sipping a cocktail is my idea of heaven. A big bonus is that there is very little hall traffic that far back. I would love to book an aft cabin but I seldom see them available. Do you have to book these early? I usually try to book one year to six months out.

To do this, we keep several FCDs on the books and add more as we need to (a good reason to take a tree day cruise LOL).

cakelover Posted June 2, 2018 #33 Share Posted June 2, 2018 I'm checking on Island Princess to Alaska Northbound. There are 3 rooms to pick. All are balcony. 1. Deck 7 Promenade, Aft, star side 2. Deck 8 Emerald, Forward, port side (Theater is underneath) 3. Deck 14, Lido, near Teen Lounge, star side Not sure if the links below work. Wanna ask which would be the best pick? Thank you. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LWeOJd-YiaMTXFcaDaw9lipxJhB2m-Bc/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1np0-RrXoDujcWCq2-oHpotVB6MqbIOUq/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1thyerUMmmSBz3-8TMBtp--0ShMtDTQmc/view?usp=sharing
flamomo Posted June 2, 2018 #34 Share Posted June 2, 2018 IMO, there probably would be more traffic, and potentially more noise, most of the time at the aft elevators, as on most Princess ships, the aft elevators carry passengers to and from the Horizon Court buffet. I have found the forward elevators are less busy, except for when there are shows and muster drill in the Princess theater.
