I hate (okay,,, dislike) those companies that ask me to bid for my upgrade.

 

Don't get me wrong, it's a great business practice. People will always bid higher most times than what would have been asked.

Just like HR having you write your own performance appraisal. People will always score themselves lower in the long run.

Start your bidding fairly low. You can always increase the bid if you want to.
