Rare Jeter02 Posted June 13, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2018 Has anyone done the canoe adventure to Mendenhall Glacier? Thoughts?
Robinsoncruiseso Posted June 13, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 13, 2018 It was a blast. Canoes hold about 18. Imagine our surprise when we boarded the bus and there was only one other person there. The driver said, "we are waiting for three more". So it was 5 women, me being the youngest at 50, and my husband (60 yrs). We had an awesome guide who did most the the work. We had a really fun time. It is work. You will have to paddle a bit, alot at times, but the views of the glacier are awesome and there is a certain calm out there on the lake. easyliving Posted June 13, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2018 We went on this canoe excursion a year ago May. I was a bit anxious (knee replacements etc.), 72 years old and my very fit husband 76 years old. Well, I was worried for nothing. It was absolutely wonderful and the guide terrific. I heartily recommend it.
