Getting from Newhaven port to Edinburgh Castle

How do I get 3 adults from the port of Newhaven to the castle? I want to walk downhill to Holyrood.

You could get a taxi, quickest and easiest way. There will be taxis outside the port.

 

Or you can join the Majestic hop-on, hop-off bus and it will take you close to the Castle. Tip: get the free shuttle along to Ocean Terminal (a few minutes) and get on there. Should be shorter queues in the morning. https://edinburghtour.com/majestic-tour/. It's not the best of the ho-ho tours in Edinburgh IMO but would serve a purpose.

 

The #11 or #16 bus will take you to Princes Street and you could walk from there.
