Lavender tour out of Marseilles?

Next month my 18 year old and I will be docking in Marseilles with our cruise and he really wants to see the lavender fields. I haven't found any recommendations for tours which go to lavender fields; I know you can't get there by train and we aren't going to rent a car, so it seems that a tour is our only option.

 

Can anyone recommend one? Thanks in advance!

We sailed in July and I'm afraid we were well past seeing lavender in bloom. Our tour included a lavender field near Pont d'Avignon, but there wasn't much to see.:( Mt understanding is that lavender is in bloom mid-June to early July.

Did you just go and see that the lavender has been harvested, because every website says through July.

Blooming is affected by the weather. It will bloom earlier in very hot and dry periods. Also, it blooms better and later up on the hills, up to the beginning of August. Avignon blooms a lot earlier because it is almost sea level. You have a better chance up near Lourmarin, or best yet around Gordes and the Senanque Abbey:
