sailor05 Posted July 3, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2018 I REALLY don't like the idea of being "stuck" on Harvest Caye and not seeing any of Belize. Is it worth it to ferry over to Placencia if only to rent a golf cart and check out the local scenery and food over there? Or would that just be a waste of money? kevnick0814 Posted July 3, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2018 110% YES! Placencia was the highlight of our cruise last month. Look for a thread from a couple of weeks ago to give some insight into getting the shuttle time you want, etc.

Placencia is a great stop but don't think for a minute that you're seeing Belize. What you're seeing is a tourist destination and lot of expats
4Ollies Posted August 30, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 30, 2018 Placencia is a great place to go. If you want really good food, try the Maya Beach Bistro. For a bar right on the beach, we have enjoyed Barefoot Bar. Tutti Frutti is a popular place for gelato plus it's airconditioned which is a nice break from the humidity.
