Emerald Princess to Alaska

Can anyone tell me if Princess is strict about their dress code on formal night? We like to dress more casual, not very formal. I will wear a knee length dress and my guy will wear slacks and a short sleeved buttondown shirt. Will this suffice or will they deny us access to the dining room?

I wore something like that last summer on our AK cruise except I wore my guayabera shirt (short sleeved) on formal nights with no problem. DW wore a dress. I have been wearing this on formal nights for several years now without even one comment when entering the MDR in TD.

All of the above posts are correct. The days of formal dressing on Princess are for those that want to experience them. (of which there are many)

We got over it years ago & never want to return.

The cruise line has realized this & doesn't push the formal routine like they did 20 years ago although they still publish the formal night in order to sell drinks & photo's.
