MSC Seaview review

Thank you for your review and the time taken to write it.

We are sailing on the Seaview in 18 days time so I was probably hoping for a more positive review particularly as far as the bars, embarkation/disembarkation and the billing method is concerned. I am hoping some of these were just "teething" problems and will have improved by the time we board.

Did you embark in Barcelona ?

Thanks for the review - curious if you could have bypassed the end of cruise billing hassle by checking your account the night before. Incidentally this is not the first time I’ve heard this complaint. MSC seems confused as to how to efficiently process refundable OBC without creating a hassle for the passengers. One other question - I’ve not heard you can’t keep your luggage with you and do walk off before.....was any explanation given for that and does anyone know if this is standard? I’m about all things MSC Seaview right now as we are booked for next September in the Mediterranean, so thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts!

Just got a great deal yesterday on the Seaview for November - could you explain the Fantastica programme vouchers please ?

I'm not sure I can give you a full description of the Fantastica package. However I can tell you what we benefitted most from: the drinks vouchers. We had a real lot of them! We didn't find they were particularly limited at all.

We certainly checked the account the night before, and it was all fine. However you tend to add on some extras the night before, and this was only checkable in the morning of disembarkation.

Concerning luggage, no you can't just walk off with it, and this explains why then the disembarkation times are staggered. Having said this, I'm pretty sure that our luggage was ready and waiting for us in arrivals some one hour before we actually disembarked.

Happy to answer more questions!

Thank you for your review, we sail on Seaview in October, it will be our 4th MSC Cruise having sailed mainly with RCI.

When we did our first MSC Cruise in Feb 17 we felt like complete cruise novices and it has been a learning curve on each one but we feel we know the ropes now.:D.

We check on the TV every night before retiring what the account charges are and on Magnifica we had your situation with the debits all being logged against one sea pass account though we had a credit for our deposit on the cash account against the other seapass. A quick visit to guest services sorted that and the accounts were linked.

We also had our credit balance owing to us refunded on the last night where as on Splendida I waited until the final morning because that is what it said in the information given. I now know to chance my luck and ask the night before. ;).

We are looking forward very much to experiencing the new ship.

We just got off Seaview and I will post a review and/or other posts with info- but we arrived at the port about 12noon and were in the ship about an hour later so not much wait (and the cabins were ready which was a plus)! I would alter with the OP - earlier is probably better - I would think you could board by 11am or so as most embarking passengers would be off by then....

You would get 12 vouchers per person like this 7f07f89b94f604db26ddfbe2de86dd11.jpg

You should get them when you check into Seaview in terminal - we didn’t because they evidently had given them to someone else and it was a little confusing sorting out on the ship but we did get them eventually (last year in Divina we picked them up in he casino so this is a different system!)!

Thanks wetwash. We actually embark in Marseille and was hoping it would be less busy than Barcelona but that said it looks as if, from your comments, the initial embarkation problems are improving.

We are in YC and have been given a boarding time of 13.00 hours but were planning on getting there earlier (approx 11.30 hours) to enjoy our first lunch on board....do you think this would be possible ?

Looking forward to your review/further info.

I don’t think that will be a problem! Enjoy your cruise! Sometime (maybe 4 or 5 years from now after we finish paying college tuitions) I want to try the yacht club - I have that long to convince my husband!!

Many thanks for the review on Seaview which we are joining in under a months' time. We (+D/SinL and the two grandkids) are on our first MSC cruise, like you, in the Fantastica category which we booked long before the ship was built. You mention the free drink vouchers you received on embarkation. Can you clarify whether this is an automatic entitlement for all Fantastica guests, or is it something only selected guests received?:D

Many thanks

P
