Cell coverage in Carcross, Yukon??

Hi all - I have a really specific cell service question that I'm hoping to get some help with.

 

We're going on our first cruise this Sunday on the Emerald Princess, and couldn't be more excited! Then today, of course, my husband gets a request for a job interview - and the only time they're willing to do a phone interview is on Thursday afternoon. We'll be in Skagway and renting a car to go out to Emerald Lake. So... has anyone tried using their cell (specifically Sprint), to make a call from Carcross? I guess the alternative is to book it out to Emerald Lake and back to Skagway, it's just going to be frustrating to not take our time.

Carcass will have cell service. The road between Carcross and skagway very likely doesn;t have cell coverage. Fraser might have cell service.

Remember that Carcross is in Canada, so you might get high roaming charges unless you have an international plan.

 

I can't tell you about coverage, since I always put my phone into airplane mode when I cross into Canada.

There is also free WiFi at CarCross outpost if you phone supports WiFi calling. I was able to use skype but don’t remember how good it was since I wasn’t interviewing for a job.
