Carnival Legend

Was on the legend in July of 05. Having a great time until the boat began to list, people were screaming, bottles and dishes were crashing on to the floor, the pools began to empty out along with the people in them, we saw this as we were sitting right next to the pool when this happened.. it felt like we were going over. I am not new to boating or cruising, had we been in rough seas we would have went over. The cruiseline said it was a "computer glich", then it was "human error", when we returned to NY, I put it in writing to the cruiseline they said it a slight interruption and no services were disrupted. NOT TRUE. I was booked to go on the Legend this April, needless to say we cancelled. This being said, I do think what happened was a fluke, and booked a cruise to Bermuda on Celebrity in May, just don't appreciate Carnivals treatment. On a positive note our room was clean, and room stewards were great! Most of the Bar tenders were very friendly. Casino crew not so much. Food was good. At last bingo game two people won the final prize, " a free cruise" however only one could have it so they had to pick a number out of a hat. They don't mention if in the event of a tie, only one will win as they are taking your money. The shows were good, the entertainment staff were very funny and many very talented. If you have children camp carnival is very good, my ten year old highly recommends it. I hope I have answered some questions for you. If I can answer anything else, don't hesitate to ask. Enjoy your cruise.

We just returned Saturday from the Legend. We didn't have any experiences like the last poster mentioned, but be for-warned, this boat does rock and move - side to side and front to back. We were in winds well over 40 (not sure if that was in knots or MPH, but very windy nonetheless). We were shocked by how much the boat felt the waves. Having said that, we did not see one drink go flying, nothing knocked over (don't tell, but we did lose a towel to the wind!). Despite all the warnings to bring duct tape, we did not have one drawer fly open. There are motion sickness remedies available on the ship if you run into trouble. Sounds like the previous poster had some unusual occurance happen on his cruise, but most people on our cruise seemed to be having a great time, and the movement did not bother everyone.

Watch for sales in the shops - they have various sales all week, so if you are in to shopping, just be careful not to buy something the first day that might be on sale in another day or two (jewelery is a big one), T-shirts the last day, etc.

Definitly try and go to the Fleece Supper Club. It is $30 each more, but worth every penny just for the experience. The main dining room (Truffles) was like fine dining to us, until we went there - it was wonderful. They had a 24 oz. T-Bone, 16oz. lobster tail, surf & turf, etc.

Not sure what else to say about the Legend. Our holiday was sort of a mixture of good & bad, but an overall good experience. I thought the service, cleanliness, room and bed quality, food were all above expectations.
