Star Princess Alaska- Dining times

I have the 8:15 dining time in the MDR and I have seen on some Alaska ships the time is moved forward to 7:30PM

has anyone experienced this?

also

On embarkation day are the dining times altered at all , due to the safety drill or late embarkation? I saw on some ships the safety drill was at 7:30pm before the ship sets sail in Whittier. Is seating just open for everyone in the MDR?

Thanks,

Jan

In May on both Island (northbound) and Golden (southbound) traditional dining times were 5:15 and 7:30. Even though the welcome aboard letter on Golden stated 5:30 and 7:45, change was announced in the next day's Patter.

On Golden southbound the day 1 Patter stated traditional dining would be (for that day only) 5:15 and 8:15 with muster at 7:30. The reality was that muster was delayed to 7:45, and immediately after all three MDRs reopened for open seating. I asked and was refused to be shown to my assigned late traditional table.
