scott4020 Posted August 9, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2018 We are sailing Magic into Grand Cayman in October and will be doing a non-ship excursion. The ship docks at 7:30. Will that be Eastern time or local time (Central?)
scott4020 Posted August 9, 2018 Author #2 Share Posted August 9, 2018 Grand Cayman is in Eastern time but you should ALWAYS use ship time. They don't do daylight savings so in October they will be Central time. My question is what will ship time be?
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 9, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2018 Eastern time, but probably not Daylight, but standard, which would make it an hour behind. Carnival ships do not change clocks in the Caribbean. EM
maryred Posted August 10, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 10, 2018 Daylight savings in the USA starts 11/4/18, for next year it's 11/3/19.
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 10, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 10, 2018 Daylight savings in the USA starts 11/4/18, for next year it's 11/3/19. Actually, it is just the opposite. DST ends on 11/4/18 and we go back to standard time. EM

Ship time will be based on the time zone from which you sail, and will remain the same.

BananaAnna Posted August 10, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 10, 2018 Ship time will be based on the time zone from which you sail, and will remain the same. Incorrect. While in some cases the ship MAY remain on initial port time it's definitely not always. On our Pan ama Canal cruise had us changing clocks almost daily it seemed.
