FishinChris Posted August 11, 2018 Author #51 Share Posted August 11, 2018 This is his smile. We stopped here for a delicious lunch, the dining room was in the basement. After Lunch we headed to the British Museum via a cab. Street photography while sitting in a cab was fun stuff.

FishinChris Posted August 11, 2018 Author #54 Share Posted August 11, 2018 We had purchased tickets to Hamilton before we left. We were just a few rows back from the stage. The show was great! See it if you get a chance. It was a crowded ride on the tube after the show. Finally back to our hotel. The next day we headed to Westminster to take the river cruise to Greenwich. Picture is in Sheperd Market.
FishinChris Posted August 11, 2018 Author #55 Share Posted August 11, 2018 We did not go in but visited Westminster Abbey last year. No Rubbish! Your pedal guides. We used our London Passes for an all day cruise ticket.

FishinChris Posted August 11, 2018 Author #57 Share Posted August 11, 2018 We took the cruise all the way to Greenwich. The Cutty Sark is right next to the dock. We hiked up the hill to the Royal Observatory to the Prime Meridian. We went to the Maritime Museum next. They had a nice display of ship figureheads. Bullet hole is near the top of the shoulder. Done at the museum, now it was time for pie and mash. Pie, mash, and eels. We boarded the river cruise and got off at the Tower of London. bobby3334 Posted August 11, 2018 #62 Share Posted August 11, 2018 I have been in London and various surrounding areas at least a dozen times and will be there 5 days before a cruise in three weeks. I have never seen better pictures. You are giving me a few things new to see and more to revisit. Simply great! Rare geoherb Posted August 12, 2018 #64 Share Posted August 12, 2018 We had purchased tickets to Hamilton before we left. We have our tickets for next month. It's also coming locally in November. I've signed up to see if we can get tickets to it again then. Sam has listened to the soundtrack over and over.
FishinChris Posted August 12, 2018 Author #65 Share Posted August 12, 2018 One of the last things I wanted to do was to have a beer at a pub while standing in the street with the rest of the regulars. The next day we were picked up from our hotel by International Friends. https://www.internationalfriends.co.uk/ We purchased the Southampton transfer via Stonehenge. The bus was just over 50% capacity with passengers heading to the Princess ship as well as Celebrity. Once we arrived at Stonehenge we were told to go stand in line for the shuttle as our tickets were already paid for. At first the line seems impossibly long but it moves really fast. We waited around 10 or 15 minutes before getting on the shuttle and about the same wait for the ride back. We don't recommend hiking to the stones if your on a tight schedule. There are a lot of people at the stones, It would make sense to rename then the Selfie Stones.
FishinChris Posted August 12, 2018 Author #66 Share Posted August 12, 2018 Its really beautiful here. You have to exit through the gift shop of course. We drove through Salisbury on our way to Southampton. Points of interest were the cathedral and the restaurant where the Russians poisoned the poor fellow. Bob++ Posted August 12, 2018 #67 Share Posted August 12, 2018 Great review; always interesting to see our country from a different perspective. 9½/10 for photography Could do better for spelling :) (There is another 'h' in shepherd) Definitely 10/10 for energy; just reading it made me tired. I believe I misspelled that two different way on this review. One of these days I’ll get it right. Thanks for the spellcheck and your kind comments. cft8 Posted August 12, 2018 #71 Share Posted August 12, 2018 Amazing photos! I am so glad I clicked through from your post on the Britain ports of call board. I adore Christo & Jeanne-Claude and I somehow had no idea they had a piece in London this summer. Luckily, we are already planning to spend time in Hyde Park and take a boat ride on the Serpentine, so I will get to see it! FishinChris Posted August 12, 2018 Author #73 Share Posted August 12, 2018 We came aboard just before 3pm, no wait just walked right on. Went to muster drill and then hurried to the laundry to get tokens. After spending nearly a week in London I definitely needed to do a load of wash. Of course the token dispenser was not working and after calling the pursers desk they told me to wait. 30 minutes later someone showed up and reset the machine and I was able to get my tokens. I actually could have waited as there are twice the amount of washing machines on the Sapphire versus the Caribbean that we were on last year. I've had many interesting experiences in Princess laundry rooms so getting it over as soon as possible is usually best. Chores done and time to enjoy sail away. FishinChris Posted August 12, 2018 Author #74 Share Posted August 12, 2018 This was the first time that we had an ocean view stateroom and it was good knowing if the sun was up or not. Of course on this cruise the sun barely sets so it was mostly sunny. Piazza International Cafe Sun Deck Port talks in the theater.
FishinChris Posted August 12, 2018 Author #75 Share Posted August 12, 2018 We did go to the CC meet and greet, it was nice meeting our fellow cruisers. These are the name badges that were printed by Diana (dmb3070) Everyone was having a good time. Not going to be a lot of food pictures. This was leg of lamb, it was delicious. Champagne Waterfall. The 1st sea day is also formal night.
