LynnTTT Posted August 13, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2018 Will the Seaside desk staff punch a hole in our cruise card so we can wear it around our neck, or do I have to buy lanyards where you put the card in the little plastic pocket? Hey, I told you it was trivial!
max996 Posted August 13, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2018 I'd put it in a plastic sleeve (or at least we did). The cards have the electronics inside to activate the proximity card readers. But the Seaside has wrist bands now ($5 or free for Yacht Club passengers) that activate all the doors and used to make purchases on board, so you don't need the cards as much as you used to. Except to get back onboard during ports of call.
ADVentive Posted August 13, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2018 They punched a hole in ours on the Sinfonia when we asked.
sidari Posted August 13, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2018 The new ship cards have RFID technology in them hence the reason you cannot put holes in them, Sinfonia is an older ship which does not have RFID.

Exactly - on all newer ships they cannot make a hole in your card, as it wouldn´t work anymore...
