30 days prior to a cruise, and work is going nuts

Last year we had a somewhat similar situation, where my husband’s 3 team mates got fired all of a sudden for some kind of ethics violation, leaving him to pick up all the work. His boss had a vacation booked that overlapped ours, so we had to completely switch our entire trip around to accommodate it. And he still worked remotely most of the time. Very frustrating. Our travel insurance does cover work related cancelations at 100% so it was an option, but he really needed to get away even if he still ended up working.
