Question Regarding Upgrade Bidding when there is only 1 Person in the Cabin

I am the sole guest in an inside cabin for two and paying for the full cabin. If I make a bid of X dollars to upgrade to a balcony will my bid be treated as a total offer of X dollars or will it be doubled as though there were two people in the cabin?

It’s my understanding that it would be doubled.
