Underwatr Posted September 13, 2018 #26 Share Posted September 13, 2018 I decided not to try to transfer the booking, and just cancel and rebook. There's still plenty of BY inventory on both sides of the ship, so worst case I'd have ended up with one of those. As it happens, immediately after I got off the phone with Cunard my old BZ stateroom became visible on the online booking site(s) so I was able to rebook the same room at a savings. As discussed, the reduced deposit on the current promotion is fully refundable until 120 days before sailing (on itineraries under 30 days). (Yes, BY is technically "better" than BZ but we're very accustomed to being near the front of the ship.)

I share your preference for BZ cabins over BY on QM2. We spend so much of our day during a crossing in either Illuminations or the Royal Court Theatre that being close to the A or B stairway/lifts is ideal for us. Only one or two of the longer treks to the Queens Room and the Britannia Restaurant in our usual daily routine. It's either a BZ or a forward BV for us.
