PrincessMelody Posted January 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2006 Hi everyone! We are going on the CB 4/22, and fares from Dayton/Columbus/Cincy to FLL have all been pretty high. I am finding some much better fares into Miami, and wonder if we should consider it? How much farther is it to the pier? How much more is cab fare? If anyone has done this and would care to comment, I would really appreciate it. :)
Bequia Posted January 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2006 Hi Trinity, Cab fare from MIA to Port Everglades is roughly $77.00 (For the ride, not per person) So if your flights to MIA are $150 cheaper then to FLL go for it. In good traffic its 45 minutes to an hour from MIA to Port Everglades. In typical traffic about an hour and a half. ;)
PrincessMelody Posted January 10, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted January 10, 2006 Thanks for the fast answer Bequia. The difference is $40 pp, certainly not enough to justify that long and expensive cab ride. Hopefully, once I'm a TA, (I'm in school now) I'll get a decent discount!!;)
geniseg_2000 Posted January 23, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2006 I will be cruising on 5/12 leaving out of Miami. A RCI told me to fly into FLL instead of MIA. Is there a shuttle or should I take a regular taxi. She mentioned something about a transfer. How do they work?
Bequia Posted January 24, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2006 Tri-County Airport Express is $18 per person from FLL to Port of Miami. When you arrive at the airport, collect your luggage and go outside the baggage claim area, lower level, curbside, contact one of our starters (customer services reps.) wearing a white shirt with "AIRPORT EXPRESS" in red on the back of the shirt and an emblem on the sleeve and over the breast pocket. Let the starter know what service you are interested in and he/she will assist you. http://www.floridalimo.com/Pages/sharedr.html
