Pipo Posted September 22, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2018 I'm doing two pre and post cruise days, and would like to visit an exotic Caribbean beach (white sand, palm trees) out of San Juan, but not too far either. Is there a beach that you can recommend within a 40 miles radius from SJU? Thanks

Stinger-pr Posted September 23, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 23, 2018 The sand in PR beaches are not as white as other islands in the Caribbean but they ear still great. Isla Verde Beach in Carolina is just about 15-20 minutes from Old San Juan and it's a great stretch of beach. If you go into the Balneario de Carolina part (grounds are run and kept by the municipal government) there are some facilities but no food vendors. Although Piñones is but a few minutes away and there are tons of restaurants with local food. There are chair and umbrella vendors at the end of Tartak St. on the opposite side of the beach. pdc2013 Posted October 1, 2018 #7 Share Posted October 1, 2018 If your driving Loquillo is great just by the Rain forest, but the beach at Isla Verde is great as well and closer.

I agree about Isla Verde. I was there on Sunday and as a beach snob it met my standards!
