Dolphin Discovery at Chankanaab Park

We are thinking of doing the dolphin encounter at dolphin discovery in Chankanaab Park.  My daughter is 7 I was debating between the dolphin encounter or the swim adventure.  Has anyone been here.  Thoughts would be appreciated.   Is there a lot to do at the park?

We loved it there.  Dolphin discovery was fun and there is plenty to do (a nice path with some ruins, Mayan house , beautiful lagoons, sea lion show, crocodile farm, iguanas,  great snorkeling). It's a great place!

Big difference in price and what you get between encounter and swim experience - is 7 old enough for the swim?

Chank is a nice park for before and after you do the dolphin thing - small pool, nice beach, separate snorkel area, trails, wildlife shows, plus okay food & drinks.  Enjoy!

it is more of a photo shoot than encounter or swim.  We did this and there was more posing than encounter.  The pictures were extremely expensive and they do not allow you to take your own.

I think whether it’s good for her depends on the child. Is she a little adventurous? Is she a little shy? She will touch the dolphin, get a kiss, etc. in the more expensive experience. She will have less “up close and personal” in the cheaper experience. Of course, she’ll wear a life jacket so water depth isn’t an issue. My daughter at 7 would have loved this. We did the more expensive “swim” and enjoyed it.
