How to go to the first unread post in a roll call

I now understand about the blue star or circle.  Can a blue star be added to our roll call so we don't have manually try to find the last unread post.  I have tried but can't find a way, but I can't. Our roll call grew from 80 some pages to 138 pages as a result of this change.  I am finding this overwhelming.  Am I missing something?
