Problems logging in with Chrome on PC

For the past couple of days I have encountered a problem with the Chrome browser on my PC: I can no longer log in to this website.

Safari on my iPhone and Microsoft Edge on the PC seem to be working fine.

Anyone else having this difficulty?

I'm using Chrome with no problems.  Have you tried clearing the cache?

Ahh! Your post made me think of another possible problem.

I was using a “favourites” selection to access the board.

Sadly, avoiding it did not solve the problem either.

But thanks for encouraging me to think more broadly.

Have you tried scanning the registry using a program like CCleaner? If that doesn't work, just yell at the computer.  It won't work, but you might feel better.

I use CCleaner but also have another programme to scan the registry. I will use it.

Already yelled at the computer. You are correct, no impact upon the problem. 😄

Interesting, and useful, that I can access the site through other means.

I have the same issue with Chrome, can not access CC.  Let me know if you find an answer.  THANKS

Well, I messed around a bit concentrating on the possible issues suggested on this thread.

Two things seemed to help.

CCleaner was struggling to clean the cache on Chrome and paying more attention to that may have helped. For some reason, I now have to force Chrome to close so that the job can be adequately completed.

And following tgg’s suggestion I also engaged in some serious registry cleanup using CCleaner and System Mechanic.

As a result, as of last night, things seem to have improved in accessing this site on my PC. Although I do get a message that Chrome isn’t happy to have been forced to close and it will just have to live with that 😄.

Now, I realize that I can’t point to any of these steps and tell you which one worked.

Good luck in solving your issues!

Watch out Nordski.  When Chrome ain't happy, nobody happy.😡

Have you thought about uninstalling Cruisecritic, clearing cache, restarting computer, and then reinstalling Cruisecritic?

Yes, that was to be my next step.

But since I want the challenge of confronting the demon in Chrome, I’m going to see how long I can live with that anger message it continues to send me.

I know, you are thinking this is hubris leading to certain tragedy.

And more likely, my wife will tell me she is sick of the issue and will order me to do exactly what you have suggested.

That worked!  I am totally incompetent in computers.  THANKS!

On behalf of all on this thread who made suggestions you are welcome!

Clearly you are not totally incompetent and glad you solved the issues!

In fact you may have done a better job than I have.
