Discover Vanuatu or Fiji Adventure

Just wondering if anyone has done both of these two cruises and what are your opinions as to the best one. We are a couple of ~young~pensioners and looking at doing one of these in May or June 2019. Any advice or assistance would be appreciated. The ship is the Pacific Aria for both cruises. Cheers.

One of the key factors is if you want to buy duty free.  Because if you do then buying onshore at Vanuatu is the way to go (don't get suckered into buying on board - the discounted prices are still at least double of port vila).

 

Other than that they are a much of a muchness - while the islands are different they are in essence just beach stops - no real sightseeing opportunities.

 

However if you want to have a pacific experience then Suva is way nicer than Port Vila and have more tours - getting them on the wharf is the best way to go.  

 

No matter which one you choose you should have a great time.

We have done the Fiji Adventue and loved it !    didn't rate Suva that much to be honest but we didn't do a tour - which might have improved our experience.   Our next cruise will be the Discover Vanuatu to see some of the islands that the island hopper does not stop at.  I'm sure both cruises would be amazing !

Thanks Matt,  we did the Vanuatu one last year and loved it and we're going to go again but decided to do the Fiji one in June this year. Last time we were on Pacific Jewel so will be interested to try the Aria this time. We were not going to bother getting off at Suva but may change our minds on the say.  Thank you for your reply and hope you enjoy your next cruise.
