knot knormal Posted December 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2018 We will be in Havana until 1AM and want to see some local entertainment. We have seen the show at Hotel Nacional, want something different. Thoughts?
tybeelucy2 Posted December 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2018 Following. What did you think about Hotel Nacionale? We were thinking of having our tour guide drop us off there for drinks after the tour.

We will be there in next 1 1/2 weeks for the Cabaret Parisien show and will report back!
knot knormal Posted December 8, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted December 8, 2018 We enjoyed the show but it was a little long. We had dinner there so our seats were stage front. We had drinks before on the patio and that was memorable. Cool bar!
knot knormal Posted December 8, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted December 8, 2018 But has anyone been to Café Taberna?
Magnetchief Posted December 10, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 10, 2018 El Floridita is crowded and expensive. Pop in for a drink and get a photo with the Papa statue and the bar. But certaily would not make a night of it. We actually met our student led bar hop from there, but soon moved on.
Cary Cruiser Posted December 11, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 11, 2018 (edited) We were in La Floridita during the day. We made our obligatory stop there to have a daiquiri, and take a picture with Papa. The joint was jumping with a really good vibe with the help of a nice little 3 piece band belting out the salsa. Don't know what the night brings, but we really enjoyed the drinks and the atmosphere there. And yes, the show at the Hotel Nacional was w...a...y too long. Island2Girl Posted January 25, 2019 #8 Share Posted January 25, 2019 SO.... Has anyone been to Cafe Taberna? I don't think that has been answered yet 🙂
knot knormal Posted February 26, 2019 Author #9 Share Posted February 26, 2019 Yes we went in December 2018. We went in the morning and even though they were not yet open, they let us in and sold us tickets. That evening we got 2 front row seats on the wall. The ticket included 3 mojitos, we could only drink 1 and maybe 1/2...too sweet. We stayed almost an hour, authentic band and music, but after an hour it all started to sound the same.
