NapTown Jim Posted January 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2006 I saw a commercial last night on the History Channel for a "Save Our History" cruise on the ms Zaandam. It looks like HAL's typical 7 night Alaskan cruise with some history channel lectures to go with it. It looks pretty cool until I saw the price tag. They're starting you out at $1799 for the lowest grade inside cabin! As cool as that trip would be that price is absolutely outrageous. I realize most of the markup is being done by the History Channel, but still...are the Alaskan cruises (not just HAL but all major cuise lines) more expensive per diem than the typical mexican or carribean routes? Edit...I forgot the linky... http://www.aetntravel.com/tours/tours_details.asp?Tour_ID=
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2006 Yes, we have found that the price of Alaskan cruises are more expensive than Mexican and Caribbean cruises. But I feel they are worth the price to see so much beautiful scenery - we'll be doing back-to-back cruises this June.
