CruisingSince1982 Posted December 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2018 We are in port from 7am - 3pm on a Monday, and would like to go to Royal Palms. What time should we leave there to ensure we are back at the tender dock in time? Can you snorkel from the beach at RP? Thank you!
eagletwo Posted December 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2018 We went to RP in August. Taxi bus was a 15-20 minute ride each way. On the return, I would allow for a 30 minute trip since the taxi bus waited for a full load. You can snorkel at the beach. Being on an Oasis class ship, beach may get crowded if there are other ships in the Port.
TravellingBritNY Posted December 19, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 19, 2018 You can definitely snorkel from the beach - I have taken folks there who have never snorkelled before to start getting used to the sensation of breathing with their face underwater and using fins. However, there is basically nothing to see - it's mostly sand and a few flat rocks. If you want to see more, go up the beach a little further to Governor's Beach and swim out to the coral heads there. You could then take the bus back to Royal Palms to enjoy all the facilities there (as there are none at Governor's)
Wanda G Posted December 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 20, 2018 Do they have Parasailing at RP or sea do rentals?
bookbabe Posted December 22, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 22, 2018 They don’t run them themselves afaik, but there’s a watersports/rentals place nearby.
