kurtp13 Posted December 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 18, 2018 Certain countries/Port locations are known for local items that are low priced to pick up when visiting. Like in Cozumel I would pick up vanilla or Kaluwa. Or in Jamaica I might get rum or coffee. San Juan i would get Rum also. Is there anything like this to get while in Nassau? Rare CruisinCrow Posted December 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 18, 2018 Not really, most things in Nassau are imported. When we're there, I do like to pick up locally made items - rum from John Watlings, chocolates from Graycliff, earrings made from conch shells, artwork by local artists. But nothing is particularly low priced.
cruiseapril Posted December 23, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2018 We like to buy local water colors in small frames. Easy to carry.
scubagirrl Posted December 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 25, 2018 There are plenty of good options for Bahamian arts and crafts, calendars, art work, music, carvings, candles, jams and hot sauces, pottery etc. Google "Creative Nassau" for information and location . Honeyroastedmelnut Posted December 29, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2018 Rum from John Watlings it is distilled in nassau and they don’t export. My hubby very much enjoyed the bottle I picked up for him the last time I was in Nassau.
