glsebs Posted December 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2018 I am trying to decide between two cabins...a PS 1 and a PS 3....one on Deck 8 or one on Deck 6. PS 2 on Deck 7 are sold out. The PS cabins are forward and the same size It looks like the PS 3 cabins on 6 are clustered around the lifts and stairs. The PS 1 on deck 8 looks to be under the sports deck. There is a $400 pp difference in price. If I am concerned about noise, which cabin would you select? Thanks in advance for any opinions!
Little Monty Posted December 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2018 We were in 8019 last year and have booked it again for 2019. There was a little noise from some sporting activity above one afternoon, but not enough to be a concern and not at night (as the sports equipment gets put away). We liked the location and can recommend it.
BeeD Posted December 26, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2018 We’ve been in 8016 which we really liked. Occasional noise from the shuffleboard game above but nothing major. We liked the easy access to the explorer lounge and bar downstairs.
Parsley Cruises Posted December 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2018 I'd opt for deck 6 any day. I reckon that deck 8 would be prone to more footfall than deck 6.
Hockeyump Posted December 26, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 26, 2018 Deck 8 only has 20 cabins and the entrance to the Explorer Lounge upper floor. I think the only people on that deck would be those in the cabins.
glsebs Posted December 26, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted December 26, 2018 Thanks all for your advice. Is there any concern with the lift being close to #6025 if we want to save some dollars?

We found the hallways to be very quiet as is most of the ship. Enjoy VO as we did on our first two cruises on them. MarkTapley Posted December 26, 2018 #8 Share Posted December 26, 2018 We were in 8016 for eight weeks on Orion and it was very quiet. We were right by the elevators and didn’t ever hear anything from the folks gathered to wait for the elevator.
