redhotpepper Posted January 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2006 Ok, my mom and I went on a cruise in September of 1997 but, for the life of us, we cannot remember the ship. Sooo, I need some help figuring it out. The trip was a repositioning cruise from Vancouver to LA and was 7 days. My mom used to be a travel agent so it was a FAM trip for her. Ports of call were Victoria, Astoria OR and SF. The ship had just come out of dry dock and had new carpet, paint, etc. It had belonged to Cunard but ownership had just changed. It was a smaller ship. Please let me know if there are any other tidbits of info I can give you to help me figure this out. It's driving me crazy! Annie
Goldryder Posted January 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2006 Ex Cunarders of that era are... Cunard Princess, Crown Jewel, Cunard Dynasty. I think, and I stand corrected here, that Cunard Dynasty became Norwegian Dynasty for a couple of seasons under charter from Majesty Cruise Line based in Florida. This all happened tween 1995 and 1997.
Goldryder Posted January 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2006 Is this the ship in question.... Ex Cunard Dynasty, and used as NCL Norwegian Dynasty and now in service with Fred Olsen... http://www.nclcruises.wanadoo.co.uk/Norwegian%20Dynasty.htm
redhotpepper Posted January 16, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted January 16, 2006 Just talked to my mom and and she thinks Dynasty sounds familiar. How long has NCL had the Lattitudes program? I'm trying to figure out if I'm a member.
Goldryder Posted January 16, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 16, 2006 I think the name 'Latitudes' is relatively recent, but the line has had a loyalty programme for many years. As to the previous name of the loyalty programme, I haven't a clue but I dare say there will be someone here who does. The photo on the link for Dynasty might jog the memories more than the name. :)
redhotpepper Posted January 16, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted January 16, 2006 I'm off to try and find the photo of us on the ship to prove I was on there so I can establish as a Latitudes member for our Dream cruise leaving on Saturday. derf5585 Posted January 16, 2006 #8 Share Posted January 16, 2006 Norwegian Dynasty (1997-1999) Norwegian Dynasty was chartered by NCL from Effjohn, like the Leeward from http://www.simplonpc.co.uk/NCLPCs3.html
b4cruiseo68 Posted January 17, 2006 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2006 I am booked on the Spririt on 3/12 and had sailed NCL back in '93. The first person I spoke with said I had to find a picture of us on the boat etc, etc. I have torn the house apart, but no photos! I called NCL regarding something else and when I mentioned that I could not find the photos, she was able to find me in their computer system, under my full name and old address. It might be worth a try. Good Luck.

Annie Will they really do that with a picture? I sailed on the Norway in 2001, yet the travel agent couldn't find me listed as a past passenger anywhere. I was wondering how we could do this. Mooshmellow Posted March 19, 2006 #11 Share Posted March 19, 2006 YES, we sailed 15 years ago on the NCL Seaward and we faxed a photo to them and they put us in as a Latitude member even thought the program did not exist 15 years ago. Call the Latitudes desk and ask for a fax number and, more importantly, a name to direct the fax to. Good Luck!
TrinaLC Posted March 19, 2006 #12 Share Posted March 19, 2006 We travelled on the Cunard Countess almost 30 years ago - I bet I could find photos. Was that under common ownership with RCL? Could we get credit?
