Blu For Low Sodium Diet?

We are longtime cruisers on Royal (Diamond +)and are going to try Celebrity. My partner is on a low sodium diet. On Royal we have used specialty restaurants to help with the low sodium diet. We have found the cooked to order meals much easier for control rather than trying to do it in the main dinning room. On our last cruise we got the UDP and never set foot in the main dinning room or the Windjammer. Breakfast was at the Solarium Bistro and all other onboard meals (lunch and dinner) were in specialty restaurants this plan worked very well for us and Jim had no problems

Now that we are going to try Celebrity we are thinking of going Aqua Class mainly for access to Blu.  I was wonder if experienced Celebrity cruisers think that we will be able control the sodium content in our meals in Blu or would we be better off doing exclusively specialty restaurants?

Does Celebrity usually offer something like an full cruise specialty dinning package (UDP) like Royal does if Blu is not a good option for us?

Sure thing and in almost any eating venue.

Complete the Special Needs form and confirm upon embarkation Since you are eating, mainly, in Blu that will not be an issue either.

If you choose to eat elsewhere, just let them know as soon as possible so they can prepare as well.

bon voyage

Celebrity used to offer the UDP but replaced it a while back with dining packages that allow you to purchase as many nights of specialty dining as you would like for a substantial discount (which increases the more nights you purchase). Unfortunately, this means that you don't get lunches in the specialty restaurants unless you purchase them in addition to dinners (rather than having all of your meals covered by one daily fee).

As for Blu, they will definitely be able to accommodate your husband's dietary needs. Most dishes are cooked to order and they are extremely receptive to special requests. Blu is also open for breakfast so that will simplify your life as well. Lunch would be the only issue, but IME you will be able to find options in the buffet, especially if you make use of the grill-to-order station.
