Maineiacbartendar Posted January 11, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2019 We have an on board credit of $100 on the Epic in May. Anyone know if this can be used towards gratuity payment? Thanks in advance for any information.
Rare KeithJenner Posted January 11, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2019 It depends on what you mean by the gratuity payment. If you mean the DSC then no it can’t. If you mean the 20% added to things you may buy, or any voluntary tips added to charges then yes it can.
Maineiacbartendar Posted January 11, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted January 11, 2019 Thanks Keith. I was referring to the gratuities charged for the 2 of us for a 7 day cruise. I believe it was @ $14.50/day per person with a total of $203. So I guess the answer is no for us.

Yes, that is the DSC and is one of the few things that Non refundable OBC can’t be used for. Im assuming, by the way, that your OBC was a promo from NCL. If you purchased it then it can be used for anything. If you got it from a travel agent then it depends whether it is refundable or non refundable. That then depends on how your travel agent got it. JohnBoy in NC Posted January 11, 2019 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2019 What was weird with our OBC was that we had $150 from NCL and $325 from our TA. Once onboard BOTH were shown as refundable (I expected the TA OBC to be...not NCL). I spent it all anyway so it didn’t matter but I was surprised to see it all as refundable.
