silhouette Noeway Flam port question

I am trying to plan our Flam port day on our August cruise.  We have reserved the early morning departure of the Flam Railway offered by the ship, and would also like to take a boat trip into the Naeroydalen Fjord to Godvangen when we return from the train trip. I would prefer to arrange this with a private vendor, but the timing is tight, so I am considering signing up for the ship's Fjord Valley and Mountain by Land and Sea.  Has anyone taken this excursion, and if so, did you enjoy it and would you recommend it?  What kind of boat is used?

   I would appreciate feedback from anyone who has done either the ship or a private tour.
