Disembarking in Long Beach

SInce Carnival is the only cruiseline in Long Beach, I will post it here. When disembarking and getting your luggage, GET A PORTER to take your luggage. They go to a different line for customs. We didn't realize until it was too late. Our friends, who got off over 30 minutes after we did, walked right through while we were stuck in the long line. You are welcome.

We experienced the same in Galveston. We only travel with small backpacks so we were not about to pay the extortionists known as porters to save a few minutes. I had always wondered why some ports didn't have global entry lines while others did, but the situation with the porters leads me to believe it is a money grab at some ports.
