Betty in Cozumel Posted January 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2019 We are sailing on HAL Westerdam in March and we have an overnight. We are thinking that after we get on board, get a bite to eat and dump our junk in our cabin that we want to head downtown to the Bund and the Nanjing Pedestrian Street. We also want to go downtown the next day too before we sail at 6pm. This could get expensive using taxis. We are okay using the subway as my husband is Chinese and can read and speak the language. It looks like the closest subway station is Baoyang Road which is about 3 km away. I am trying to see if there is a bus that runs straight up Baoyang Road but I'm not having much luck. Anyone done this before? Normally walking this distance wouldn't be a problem but I just had a 3rd surgery on my right knee and I'd like to "save" my knee for walking around downtown. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Lingdian+Square,+Baoyang+Road,+Baoshan,+Shanghai,+China/Baoyang+Road,+Baoshan+Qu,+Shanghai+Shi,+China/@31.398081,121.4832872,15z/am=t/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x35b20cf0cda52fb1:0x39b85dab24daaedf!2m2!1d121.504757!2d31.403497!1m5!1m1!1s0x35b20d17f6a0c1c1:0x2c5648ff4fc87cb6!2m2!1d121.479583!2d31.395315!3e0
Wanderingsascent Posted January 23, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2019 The cruise terminal is miles away fom public transport or so it appeared to me. We used taxi from hotel to port and fast train and subway from airport to hotel. Beware taxi drivers, we heard some terrible stories of overcharging and even putting people out in the middle of nowhere.
