mets123 Posted January 27, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2019 It's been ten years since I've visited this island. Are there any shops where the ship docks, or any within walking distance? Also interested in seeing a rum distillery. Is there any nearby?
blue_water Posted January 28, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2019 A few shops near the pier, the Callwood distillery in Cane Garden Bay is the oldest continually operating distillery in the Carib. Do plan to take either a shared or private island tour with one of the drivers at the dock, visit one of the gorgeous beaches, or head to the Baths on Virgin Gorda! mets123 Posted January 31, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted January 31, 2019 How far from the pier to the distillery? How long is the tour, and would it be easy to get a cab back to the pier?
blue_water Posted February 1, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2019 (edited) The distillery in in Cane Garden Bay, a 20 minute, $8pp taxi. CGB is the most popular beach with several beach bars, taxis drop fellow cruisers there and return to pick them up. Tours are typically 4 hours, you can inquire about them at the info center when you arrive or just check with the drivers there.
