Connecting rooms on new ships

As I attempt to find the right cabin for the right price on Encore I always end up at connecting rooms. I am wondering if the newer ships like Bliss and Joy have proven to be more secure soundwise than the older ones. Are the mechanics/technology the same? Any bad experiences?

The very 1st cruise I was on, albeit many, many moons ago was a connecting cabin, never, never, never again.  We had to tune the TV to the same channel, wish I had ear plugs for the snoring, etc., etc.  Granted probably much has improved, however never again, not worth the chance on how loud your "neighbors" might be!
