weather in the baltic

Recommended Posts

We sailed this past year during the same week. The weather we had was wonderful. When we arrived in St. Petersburg there was a light rain, however by 9 or 930 it cleared up for the rest of the day and next. When we were in Oslo they had their warmest day of the summer, it was actually quite nice. I always took a wind breaker type jacket with me each day and wore long or short sleved shirts. You want to dress in layers, especially in St. Petersburg as the museums there get very warm. Every city we visited we were comfortable walking around and didn't have to deal with extreme temperatures.

We had 14 days in the Baltics with no rain and nice temps ranging from 65 to 75 every day in late August/early September of 2005--that's like a miracle if you're not familiar with the area--but someone needs to say that it cannot be emphasized enough that the Baltics weather changes quickly and frequently. So layers are always a good option.

Have a great trip,

Donn
