GB Chicago Posted January 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2006 We booked this hotel as well using Hyatt points for the night before our cruise in March. Hope you get a chance to post your thoughts - we had booked at the Renaissance but after reading reviews on both on tripadvisor switched to the Hyatt. Nanatravel Posted January 20, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2006 The Hyatt is a nice convention area hotel in downtown Long Beach. You will be able to walk or take the trolley shuttle to the Aquarium area or Shoreline Village. A nice place to celebrate your birthday is the Parkers Lighthouse restaurant at Shoreline. We loved it! Now, California will be warmer than BC, but I wouldn't plan on swimming outdoors. Layer your clothing; pants, shirt, sweater, jacket for daytime touring and boarding ships. It will be cool as will your first and last days at sea- very cool usually. We could not even sit on our balcony in November. Bon Voyage
