Miami-first weekend in April

Hi All, does anyone know if something big is happening in Miami the weekend of Apr. 1 & 2?. I checked some sites and nothing jumped out. The reason I'm asking is all the downtown hotels seem booked. I had my travel agent check RCCL's hotel package and they came up with the Fountainbleu at $200.00 per night PER PERSON:rolleyes: . Any thoughts?

SPRING BREAK!... Prices and occupancy are both at their highest, grab whatever decent place you can find now or you may be sleeping on a park bench!

I phoned the Radisson downtown...got a room, ain't cheap - $249.00 but at least it's done. I'm not sure if they have much left. Last March the same room was $189.00...things must be OK for Miami tourism.:)

about a week ago I booked on Hotwire 4* Miami downtown for Saturday, April 8th - got Intercontinental for $184 per room. I figured it wasn't bad during Spring Break...

 

Got my tips from betterbidding - knew it was Intercontinental based on the amenities...
