Which land tour?

My husband I are going to do a 7 day cruise either from Vancouver to Alaska or Alaska to Vancouver.  We want to do a land tour in Alaska and possibly add on the Yukon.  We'd really like to take the White Pass Yukon railway.  Does anyone know which land tour we would have to do to take in the White Pass Yukon railway?  Been doing reading and getting very confused. Would appreciate help.  Thank you.

The White Pass & Yukon Railway is in the port of Skagway and you can go into the Yukon.  So, as long as your cruise ship stops in Skagway, you can do it! I highly recommend Dyea Dave's tour - we took the van up to Emerald Lake and then the train from Fraser back to Skagway. http://www.*****/tours.htm

Holland America has cruisetours that include the Yukon (Dawson City, Whitehorse) and you travel on the White Pass Yukon railway as you join the ship or leave the ship in Skagway with a 3-4 day cruise to/from Vancouver.  (If you really want to get into the Yukon for a few days).  These tours also include 2-3 nights in Denali and a night in Fairbanks.  There are several itineraries to choose from on HAL’s website.

We were hoping to do the full up and back train ride but the WPYR does not offer that on Monday (when we are in Skagway). We opted to schedule the two Bearvet mentioned. Dyeadavetours   dot   com  up to Carcross and back to Fraser. Then grab the WPYR train there (his link) for the short ride back to Skagway. I've talked with Dave a couple of times on the phone. Very joyful guy. They work closely with you to get the tickets for the train b4 departing Skagway and then making sure you are dropped at the station in Fraser. You just have to reserve and purchase the train separately.
