ace123 Posted February 25, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2019 It'll be a port stop in Salerno (7:00 am - 6:30 pm) on Vision of the Seas in Aug. Is taking the ferry the easiest way to Amalfi or Positano? Are these 2 places very similar and we only need to go to one? Is the time enough to go to both on our own? We probably start at 9:00 am instead of 7:00 am. Is the Salerno cruise terminal within walking distance to Salerno P. zza Concordia where the ferry is? Do we need to purchase the ferry tickets in advance? Do we have to spare some time in Salerno, anything interesting there? Thank you in advance for your advice. euro cruiser Posted February 25, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2019 Yes, the ferry is the easiest way to get there. The Amalfi Coast ferries use the Concordia dock, about a mile and a quarter from the cruise port. It's an easy walk along the waterfront, especially if you're not rushing. You don't need to buy tickets in advance. Amalfi and Positano are quite different from one another.
GCHAN Posted February 28, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2019 I seem to remember Celebrity cruises or the town provided buses to get into Salerno. The Amalfi ferry was not that far from where the bus drops you off. Amalfi was a beautiful cruise and I think took about 30 minutes or so. It was a very nice place to visit. We were told later that people had a really nice time in Salerno itself so that is an option as well. They did have people handing out Salerno maps when you get off the bus.
