Chania (Souda) Ship Excursion

My husband is a lover of ancient civilizations and the cruise line is offering an excursion that gives a glimpse of the Minoan culture. It is a long ride both ways but maybe worth it? 

Would love to get view of folks who have been here or done this.

Knossos is brilliant for anyone interested  in ancient history. It's quite a large site with plenty to see. However, we visited from Heraklion which is only half an hour away. Only you can decide whether the journey is worthwhile. You will find loads of information about knossos if you Google it.
